The first name of Davie Town was Zona. That was not big part of the land and most of it was covered with water, but the developer Robert Parsell Davie took the challenge of the nature and bought 27. 000 acres of the land. Later he opened a school, and for this and not only, in his honor the city was renamed to Davie, in 1916.
Davie has always been so called a “Western city” with many “Wild West” buildings and people, who mostly bred cattle and horses. Sometimes Davie even compare with Texas with its rodeos and wester dances.
This “Wester” style the town try to keep till nowadays. The today’s population of Davie is over 92 000 people and the town’s area 35,7 square miles. Most part of the Davie’s Town population are English speaking, also there are Spanish, French, Italian and even Chinese speaking.
Davie Town is the cradle of knowledge as it has seven of Broward County’s best universities and colleges. And if you are a fan of Miami Dolphins, come here to see how they train and play.
The most beautiful and old botanical garden in South Florida with 200 years old Oak trees and variety of species of animals and birds. If you want a thrill, in Flamingo Gardens you can see tropical plants and even alligators. And, of course, huge population of flamingos and in gift shop you can find everything that you want with flamingos.

Tree Tops Park
Ex dairy farm, was planned to become a golf community but Broward County decided to save the beauty of this place to people, in 1980s. Now it is 56.6 hectares of a pristine nature. Most part of it is tropical so be careful with poisonous plants and even Mosquitoes. So to wear clothes with long sleeves will be good decision. Long walks on natural trails, horse and bicycle riding, paddle-boat and canoes these are far not all things that you can enjoy in the Tree Tops Park!
Young At Art Museum
“Art is an integral part of a child’s education; art has a power to inspire and teach children!” – this is the main motto of Young At Art Museum. Was founded in 1987 by Esther and Mindy Shrago. Here children of all ages will find interesting things to see and to do as each room of the museum is created for different age levels. Great place to bring a child in a rainy day, to play and to learn!
